In response to our November Giveaway question: Now that the school year has hit a rhythm — what new project, approach, or curriculum is blooming in your world?
Eleanor Alexander shared her excitement about her new approach to her Grade 12 “Social Justice & Equity” class.
Although November is usually my least favorite month, I’ve been jumping out of bed excited for work these days. My Grade 12 students in “Social Justice & Equity” class have been preparing workshops to deliver to Gr. 9 & 10 students in Family Studies class. The first set of presentations took place on Monday and the rest will happen later this week. It was great to see my students’ preparation pay off, with an engaged audience,, and to see how using student-led activities can help fire up students’ interest in difficult topics.
In thanks for her post, we’ll be sending her an autographed copy of Teaching with Heart. Congratulations Eleanor!
